Can someone please advice me on moving money to a safe location for about a year or two, possibly out of the country. It should not be traceable or searchable. I don't know if there is still such a thing as number accounts.
PM me if you like.
And, no, I am not trying to hide it from my SO.

The reason you want to move it and who might want to find it are critical to any decision you might want to make. Wife, creditor, taxman? Do they know you have the money? Where is it now? How much $$$? What may seem like a fortune to you may be nothing worth bothering about.
Remember, there is ALWAYS a paper trail if it is in a bank somewhere now. If someone really wants to get it and it is in a bank you may spend a lot trying to stop them .
The days of the safe, easy, anonymous offshore accounts for a couple of hundred thousand are long gone. You'll need a letter of reference from your bank to open one at another. All international transactions are recorded by FINCUS(?) or something.
Otherwise simply taking it out in cash, gold etc and stashing it somewhere is one sure way that it will be YOUR decision to give it up or run away with it some day.

I will hold it for you in an account.. as long as I get to keep the interest and a small percentage of the original amount :)

How many digits are we talking? Wires under 10K are advisable. Do the letters IBC mean anything to you?

Take your money (if its currency), arrange to purchase property through a blind trust, or a trusted party. Property should be fluid and generate some profits so as to pay out the other party. I have some friends that own condo's (not in their name) in the Grand Cayman's and other island resorts... (very profitable in seasonal rentals)
If its invested dollars, ie stocks bonds etc. have them converted to bearer bonds, take a trip to the Grand Cayman's rent a safety deposit box and store them there.

Thx for the suggestions.
There is a possible legal dispute in the company where the money is sitting in. I would probably need to cash it out and move or convert it somewhere.
I thought Gold purchases/sales need to be registered now? Although I like the liquidity of it.
I read bearer bonds are illegal in the US, where can you get them still?

How profitable are the Cayman's condos, inquiring minds want to know.

You have touched on one of the features of offshore protection. The party needs to get a judgement against your account in the jurisdiction (unless the jurisdiction is irregular)..you will have time to move the asset to another jurisdiction...could be 3 to 6 months. The Trust is more iron clad, but costs regular fees... jump a plane to BVI..prowl around... if 5K usd in fees is considered disposable for you
You can buy J&M bars...pay in cash. You will lose a bit on the re-sale...having to deal thru a dealer. 3% shrinkage would be normal, depending on the volume.

Cayman condo's are sought after by a lot of business people, who need to establish residency in the Islands, one of the requirements to form a Grand Cayman's corporation is a residence on the island. You would be surprised how many people "live" in the three condo's my friend owns. Gives time share a whole new meaning. European's and Americans are the biggest "share" of users, averageing between 1500.00 to 3000.00 a week rental..

It wouldn't be money laundering. It would most likely be after tax money.

Just be wary of the DEA,if you have to do anything with the USA.They love large sums of undeclared cash.To them it is drug money!Cash has become a dreaded four letter word over the years, very hard to hide it or move it.Plus there is no insurance if you happen to misplace it or lose it.
